About the photographer

A sculptor once described the process of creating an equine statue as "chipping away everything that isn't a horse." My approach to photography is equally straightforward: frame the good, crop the bad, and avoid the ugly.

Though technically proficient (well, enough to teach, anyway), I try not to let technical aspects and gear get in the way of my creativity. Whether shooting businesslike or dramatic, sexy or serious, intense or offbeat, my shoots - and classes - are always fun.

In my portfolio, you'll find random acts of photography, including my obsessions with statuary (I learned the pictures are easier to carry), cemetery art (to die for), travel and portraiture.

I teach at NOVA Workforce Development, and individually. Thanks for f-stopping by. (Sorry.)
